Archbold House Development

TOTAL Construction has erected the fences around Archbold House in Roseville. A start-up meeting was held between the construction personnel and all other relevant stakeholders. Topics around safety, protection processes and communication dominated the first meeting.

At present, the hoarding and chain wire fencing and gates for Stage 1 construction are now complete.

The redevelopment of Archbold House project has established a five-person street neighbours committee, and meetings have occurred over the past two months. KOPWA’s nominated Project Manager prepares a fortnightly update and issues an executive summary to all neighbours who have subscribed to receive updates. In the event of “an emergency”, the street committee will contact KOPWA. Demolition of the current buildings will occur this week by the end of November 2019.

The redevelopment of Archbold House is proposed to meet the growing number of elderly people living in the lower north shore area of Sydney. As a community based, not-for-profit provider, it gives residents residing in the Ku-ring-gai area options. While some aged care providers have opted to build vertically to house ageing Australians, KOPWA chose to build around the current landscape of Roseville. The new Archbold House is also an opportunity to accommodate the changing attitudes of Aged Care by utilising our existing land by incorporating more beds and trusted support care services. The new site will also include a basement carpark, resident amenity areas, onsite administration, and allied health consulting rooms.
