Kindifarm visit brings smiles and memories to residents

KOPWA is currently embarking on a series of Reminiscence Therapy activities, one such example is the recent activity encouraging residents to tap into memories and past experiences with farms and animals.  KOPWA invited Kindifarm to Archbold House on 18 April 2018 for residents to have an enjoyable time with animals. According to Majić, Gutzmann, Heinz, Lang, and Rapp (2013) it was found using animal-assisted therapy (AAT) [or pet therapy] can progressively delay the symptoms of agitation and depression in elderly people with dementia. KOPWA wishes to continue using various non-pharmacological strategies to provide ease and comfort to our residents.
