KOPWA Welcomes Nicolette Boele MP
Residents, staff, Board members and guests gathered to mark a special occasion as Nicolette Boele MP presented KOPWA with a new Australian flag. The visit celebrated KOPWA's proud history of caring for older Australians and its ongoing commitment to the local community.
KOPWA was delighted to welcome Nicolette Boele MP, Federal Member for Bradfield, to our Roseville home on Tuesday, where she spent time meeting residents, touring our facilities and learning more about the important role aged care services play in the local community.
Joining the visit were KOPWA Board members Geoff Kerry and David Smith, who welcomed the opportunity to showcase KOPWA's long-standing contribution to the local community and discuss the future of aged care in the region.
During the visit, Ms Boele joined residents and staff for morning tea, hearing firsthand about the experiences, connections and sense of community that make KOPWA such a special place. Residents enjoyed the opportunity to share their stories and discuss the issues that matter most to older Australians.
A highlight of the morning was the presentation of a new Australian flag, with Geoff Kerry providing introductory remarks before the flag was formally presented to the KOPWA community during a special ceremony attended by residents, staff and visitors.
KOPWA's CEO, Hugh Lander also shared insights into the growing demand for aged care services across the Ku-ring-gai region, along with the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. Discussions focused on the importance of sustainable funding, workforce support and planning for future community needs.
As KOPWA approaches its 70th year of caring for older people, the visit provided an opportunity to showcase our enduring commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and to strengthening connections with local representatives and the wider community.
We thank Ms Boele for taking the time to visit KOPWA and look forward to continuing constructive conversations about the future of aged care and the needs of older Australians in our community.
